Executive Vice President, People, Innovation, and Results & Chief Financial Officer – Jason Reid

Jason Reid (he/him) joined the Canada Energy Regulator on September 5, 2023, where he accepted the role of Executive Vice-President of People, Innovation, and Results & Chief Financial Officer.

He has a long and distinguished career in the federal public service, working as a senior leader in various departments and agencies. Most recently, Jason held the position of Chief Information Officer, Information Management Senior Official and Director General at Natural Resources Canada and at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He also spearheaded two major digital transformation initiatives for the Government of Canada: Web Renewal and GCDocs. Jason was awarded the Queens Golden Jubilee medal for his outstanding service.

Jason has a bachelor’s degree in social science (economics) from the University of Ottawa. He currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario, which is built on unceded Anishinaabe Algonquin territory. The peoples of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation have lived on this territory for millennia. Their culture and presence have nurtured and continue to nurture this land.

Vice President, People and Workforce Supports and Chief Human Resources Officer – Alexis Williamson

Biographical Snapshot:

  • Ms. Williamson joined the regulator in October 2016, after working with the British Columbia provincial oil and gas regulator.
  • She has over 20 years’ experience working in senior leadership positions both in the private and public sector.
  • Her primary focus of work has been dedicated to strategy and employee engagement, program design, change management, recruitment and hiring, compensation, learning and leadership development, workforce planning and executive coaching.

Vice President, Data and Information Management and Chief Information Officer – Christian Iniguez

Biographical Snapshot:

  • Christian has 15 years of experience in several leadership positions in the provincial and federal governments in the energy, economic, and environmental spheres.  
  • Christian has a strong leadership and analytical background, having previously served as the CER’s Director of Tolls and Tariffs Compliance, Director of Energy Markets, and Director of Energy Trade.  
  • Before joining the CER, Christian worked at the Government of Alberta’s Department of Finance and Enterprise, Department of Energy, and Environment and Climate Change Canada. 
  • In the role of Vice President, Data and Information Management, Christian also serves as the CER’s Chief Information Officer and Access to Information and Privacy Coordinator.

Vice President, Performance and Results – Barb van Noord

Biographical Snapshot:

  • Barb van Noord joined the regulator as Vice President System Operations in August 2016. In 2022, she was Vice President Data and Information Management for six months before returning to System Operations.  Barb was deployed to the Vice President Performance and Results role in January of 2023.
  • Barb has 30 years of industry oil and gas experience in Canada and the USA, including both upstream and pipeline sectors, as well as technical expertise and a background in management systems and compliance auditing.
  • Prior to joining the organization, Barb was Director, Operational Excellence and EH&S Integrated Planning at Suncor Energy.
