Project Background

The proposed project will replace the existing Meter Station 27 (MS-27) on Westcoast’s Transmission North (T-North) system. The existing MS-27 is being replaced due to effects from prior site flooding events and that MS-27 is reaching the end of its useful life. The project will occur within the footprint of Westcoast’s Compressor Station 4A (Summit Lake) at a location adjacent to MS-27. The proposed scope of work, which is subject to change through the detailed design phase, includes:

  • preparing the new site for the new MS-27 building;
  • installing pilings for the new MS-27 building;
  • installing pipe supports for approximately 70 meters of new inlet, metering and outlet piping to the new MS-27 building; and
  • installing new a new pressure control and overpressure protection system.

In addition, approximately 9 meters of meter run piping will be removed and connections to the 10” and 12” pipelines will be blinded off as well as any required decommissioning of the underground flare line branch for PSV-0415.

Project construction is anticipated to start in late Quarter 2/early Quarter 3 2024 with a proposed duration of the construction of approximately three months.
